Imagine seeing a city through the eyes of someone whose childhood stories are intertwined with the rich history of a world-famous city and one of the most powerful empires in history. Join ExDI on this remarkable journey through Agra, where the past and present converge in the oldest part of the city.
This walking tour is not just a stroll; it’s an evocation of memories, a glimpse into what it’s like growing up as a local in Agra’s ancient heart. We begin our journey at the historic Jama Masjid, a place steeped in centuries of history and culture.
As we follow a meandering route filled with intense aromas, colorful crowds, street foods, ancient temples, and beautiful ruins, you’ll gain insights into what it means to be part of a community with stories that stretch back through generations. We’ll share a snack with the women from local communities, bridging the gap between travelers and locals in a meaningful way.
The tour will take you behind the scenes, into a workshop where dedicated craftsmen have been meticulously working with threads for 16 generations. It’s a chance to witness the profound history of a craft that continues to thrive in the city. The journey concludes with a visit to a century-old shop specializing in marble handicrafts. Here, artisans still carve dreams in stone, carrying forward a tradition that’s as old as the city itself.
